Like pretty much everybody on the Internet, I get spam. Unfortunately, as I’ve had an e-mail address for almost 15 years now, I get a lot of spam. How much is a lot? On an average day, around 25 megabytes of spam e-mail is sent to me.

To put that in perspective, the average novel consists of around 100,000 words. That’s roughly 600,000 characters, if we include spaces and punctuation. The amount of spam e-mail I receive would fill over forty books like this. Every single day.

Fortunately, some very clever filters mean that only a tiny percentage of this actually appears on my screen - well under 0.1%. But that’s still a lot of junk mail, and it shows no signs of decreasing. As such, instead of providing an e-mail address which you can contact me on, I’ve instead chosen to use a contact form, with a simple question that needs to be answered correctly before you can contact me. Please don’t let it put you off - I’d love to hear from you.
